Minot, ND to Dawson Creek, BC

We crossed the US border into Canada by Highway 83 north of Minot.  We had no problems and the Canadian Border Patrol folks were informative and pleasant.  From there, we traveled up to the Trans Canada Highway 1.  We found a campground in Regina, SK that was fine for a one night stay.  After a restful night and catching up on laundry, we left out the next morning for Edmonton, Alberta.  It was a long travel day but we arrived to the south-side city Walmart parking lot just fine.  We got set up for the night and slept well.  The next morning, we were out early and enjoyed an uneventful travel day to to Dawson Creek, BC.

Here the Alaska Highway  begins..and so does our "epic drive" (Ronnie's words) or the "grand journey" my words.

Here are some photos from the windows of the motorhome leaving Minot, North Dakota traveling the grand prairie of Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada.

This was mostly our view out the motorhome windshield mostly traveling north of Minot.

We did see some very tidy homesteads with hefty evergreen tree wind blocks throughout North Dakota and Saskatchewan..
These areas of North Dakota and Saskatchewan could also be called "Big Sky Country".
We saw a lot of spring planting.
Traveling through parts of Saskatchewan reminded us of western South Dakota with it's rolling hills and plains.
We traveled through many small towns and communities like Chamberlain.

Here, we notice how British Columbia is heavily forested.
Interesting road side information about Alberta's Grand Prairie
