Exploring the Santa Fe Area, Part 2

Our drive out to Abiquiu and Cebolla was filled with beautiful scenery.  First we drove through the town of Espanola.  The colorful murals there caught our attention.

A close up of the cat and dog in that mural.
In the "Red Rocks" area you can see some of the landscapes painted by the artist Georgia O'Keeffe.

I was excited to see the Cebolla Church that Georgia O'Keeffe painted in 1945. This painting is located in NC Museum of Art.  Although the original church she painted has been torn down, the rebuilt church does resemble the one she painted.

More later on our visit to Los Alamos and the Bradbury Science Museum.

  1. The Abiquiu area is one of our favorites! If you're still in the Santa Fe area, drive into downtown and go to Santa Fe Bite for the BEST green chili burger you'll ever have...ever. honest.
