Ron wanted to see the Palace of the Governors Museum and the New Mexico Museum of History.
There were many, many informative exhibits and we found this place to be as interesting as the Bradbury Science Museum. We enjoyed ourselves for over 3 hours.
We found this original stage coach in an exhibit in the Palace of the Governors Museum. circa 1850s There are also excellent archaeological displays here. |
Original Army Cavalry saddle |
Original Conestoga wagon used on the Santa Fe Trail..circa 1850s |
We were hungry after all that museum viewing. We had a recommendation from Rick and Gail of the Gypsy Turtles that Santa Fe Bite had a delicious green chile cheeseburger. Yes..their green chile cheeseburgers were very, very good.
Our drive up to the White Rock Overlook did not disappoint either..stunning views.
That's a waterfall tumbling from the cliff. |
My next blog post will be our drive to Taos and the Rio Grande Gorge. Oh..and our fun dive through the Jemez Mountains and Hwy 484. More to come..later.
