Whew.....We made it. We have never seen or been in such heavy traffic.
We are at Deer Creek RV Resort for the next 3 months. The RV park is located in the town of Davenport, Florida which is located about 15 miles south of Orlando. We arrived this morning around 10:00 a bit tired and traffic weary. But, that's ok, we are happy to be here and can't wait to get out and explore the area. We are situated in a nice, spacious lot that we have rented from our friend Jimmy Capps. There seems to be so much to do.. lots of state parks, natural areas, museums and just enjoying the warmer weather. We went out to get a late lunch after we arrived and we saw folks dressed in shorts and sandals..while we were still in jeans and sweat shirts!
We think we will enjoy our stay. Little Boy can't wait to get out and nibble some green grass..one of his favorite "summer-time" snacks.
Post Script: I just heard on the local news station that Universal Studios was at "near capacity attendance" today. I think all those people drove in with us yesterday and Saturday!

LOOK! We went somewhere!
We have been here at Page Place RV Park for the last 2 months. I haven't posted much because we just have not done any traveling or exploring of the area. When I began our blog, my reason for it was to communicate to our family and friends of our travels..and all the places we visit. Since the Cedar Point area seems like "home" to us we haven't been out to explore. We tend to stay close to the motor home, completing basic maintenance and housekeeping chores and exercise Little Boy on his leash. We have traveled back to Coats, NC to visit with my Mom a few times and we will head back that way Christmas week too.
|I took this photo from my Mom's back yard. We stood out to watch this amazing sunset for several minutes.|
We stopped by the Alpha Phi House. No one was there but I did walk in the house to relive some college memories. Why did all the rooms seem smaller?
We drove by the dorm where I stayed my freshman and part of my sophomore years. We didn't go in, traffic was heavy since it was graduation day.
We walked through the Leo Jenkins Fine Arts Center. Memories of a lot of work came flooding back. The building still smells the same too.
Not sure what this excited look is for? (Could it be I don't have to load a kiln any more!)
Full-time RVers have a saying "Plans are made in Jello". It means that flexibility is the mainstay when making long-range, future plans. Right now, our plans are to leave Coats soon after Christmas and travel to Florida. We plan to stay in the Orlando area for 3 or 4 months. We are not sure where we will go to from there...our plans are in Jello for now.
My next post will most likely be once we arrive in Florida. As we move into the new year, we can't help but to reflect on the past one. It is amazing how much we have learned, we are so grateful for how everything seems to work out, we appreciate it all and we are so looking forward to every day's new experience. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2014.
